Online course can be found at CITI Registration. University employees, students, and researchers can take courses free of charge. Please register associated with “University of Tennessee-Knoxville.”

Included in the CITI classes are topics such as Responsible Conduct of Research (required of all participants on USDA NIFA projects), Export Control, Conflict of Interest, and Human Subject. For more details, see Online CITI Training.

Online training is available at K@TE. Learning includes Child Protection Training, Security the Human (IT training), safety training including “UTIA Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety Training”, Business Ethics, IRIS training, Title IX Mandatory Reporter Training, UT Code of Conduct, and much more.

Students and employees can find online training options at Canvas:

  • Student safety training includes “UTIA Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety” and “Laboratory Safety for Undergraduates and Minors.” (Contact the UTIA Safety Office with questions.)
  • Radiation safety training access requires registration with the Radiation Safety department (contact radiationsafety@utk.edu) with the Radiation Safety department. Classes on Canvas include “Radioactive Sealed Source,” “X-ray Machine,” and “Radiation Safety Training for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital”.

UTIA students can find assistance with Canvas at Online@UT (Canvas) Resources for Students.

The biosafety training website has valuable information for students and employees working in laboratories on the Knoxville-area campuses.

Training is held via Zoom sessions. Sign up at IACUC Zoom Training. Also, see a Working with Hazardous Agents in Animals presentation.

Enroll in the Occupational Health Program, required for working with live animals or tissues/specimens, or applying for the annual required update for people on IACUC protocols.
